Window Shutters

Shutters give you the feel of cozy interiors and will wrap around you with warmth and comfort. Window shutter treatments have different ways of being installed depending on the window treatment design that you are looking for.

You can choose to install them inside the window frame, maybe a mounting strip, or like most shutters installed outside of the window opening with a frame by themselves.

Depending on the window size the shutter window treatment you install might be a single shutter that will only open one way from the window or you can choose to have a pair of shutters that will open in the center of the window.

There is another choice of four or more shutter panels which are hinged together with a center split, so depending on the window treatment you are looking for window shutters can offer you different options for your privacy and because they blend well with any window top treatment you can install them to cover only the lower half of your window.

One nice benefit of window shutters is the ability to buffer against noise from outside which are great for street level rooms in any urban areas. When you have a window that has atleast two or more sets of window shutters you can install a divider rail along the top half to open separately against the bottom.

A basic general rule is to only have the minimum number of panels that you need to create the desired effect that you want. If you have more panels that means that your window is mostly covered by frames. If you use less window shutter panels you will get more unobstructed views and will also give you more light control from the window treatment.
